The primary school programme at Mel’s Adventure School is designed for children between the ages of 7 to 12 years old. It aims to promote environmental awareness and conservation among children, while also fostering team-building and leadership skills. The programme also offers a more in-depth learning experience about nature, ecology, and sustainability. Activities include nature walks, environmental science experiments, outdoor games, and survival skills training.

Primary School Programme

The primary school programme aims to promote environmental awareness and conservation among children, while also fostering team-building and leadership skills.

The programme also offers a more in-depth learning experience about nature, ecology, and sustainability. Activities include nature walks, environmental science experiments, outdoor games, and survival skills training.

Mel’s Adventure School’s curriculum includes primary school Signature Practices that offer hands-on approaches to encourage the skills your child will need in primary school and beyond:

Forest School Nature Trail

Daily schedule

Our daily schedule offers time for children to participate in both group activities and independent child choice activities. 

Welcome and Introduction

1:00 p.m. – 1:15 p.m.

The session will begin with a welcome and introduction by the teacher.

Nature Walk and Tree Identification

1:15 p.m.

The children will go on a guided nature walk and learn how to identify different types of trees by their leaves, bark, and other characteristics.

Snack Break

2:30 p.m.

The children will have a short break to eat a healthy snack and re-energise for the rest of the afternoon’s activities.

Fire Safety and Cooking

2:45 p.m.

The children will have the opportunity to cook simple snacks or treats over the fire, such as roasted marshmallows or popcorn.

Nature Art and Crafts

3:15 p.m.

The children will have the opportunity to create art and crafts using natural materials found in the natural surrounding.

Nature Games and Team Building

3:45 p.m.

The children will play a variety of nature-themed games and team-building activities to help them work together and build their social and emotional skills.

Reflection and Closing

4:30 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.

The session will conclude with a group reflection on what the children learned and experienced during the day.
