Punggol's Only Outdoor Adventure School!
Forest & Nature School is an educational approach and programme of delivery that has existed since the 1950s worldwide. It is play-based, child-led, emergent, and inquiry-based, and learning takes place outdoors in a natural setting. Participants visit the same natural space on a regular, repeated basis over an extended period of time, through all kinds of weather and in all seasons.
Through play in the forest, children develop problem-solving skills, cooperation, self-esteem, and knowledge across many diverse subjects. Forest School allows children the time and space to develop their own interests, skills and explore through hands-on experiences. Children are given the freedom to use all of their senses to explore and experience nature. Being outdoors not only provides children with fresh air but also encourages imaginative play, creativity, hand-eye coordination, balance, physical strength, mental clarity and a relationship to the land.
Taking advantage of geography to create authentic, meaningful, and engaging learning for children.
Organising observed categories of thrilling but safe play that children can engage in
Slowing down the way we teach so that children can take pleasure in learning
Stepping back from learning and developing critical thinking skills by analysing one's experience.
Our Forest & Nature School Holiday Camp is non-residential.
Children will learn how to use tools, build fires, and do outdoor cooking in a nearby open space.
Other activities include observation, navigation, foraging, shelter-building, tree climbing, mud slides, nature based games, child-led initiatives, sensory play, and many more!
